In 1962, Ferro Industries, Inc. started manufacturing sanding pads for the automotive assembly plants. Back then, we manufactured only 4 different pads. Things have changed a little since then.

Ferro Industries, Inc. now manufactures a variety of over 400 custom made sanding, grinding, polishing, feathering, and buffing pads. We manufacture hand sanders and additional products, as well.

Over 50 years of experience

In 1985, a customer asked us to make a custom pad to fit into their new lambswool polishing pad. Our first attempt came close, but still missed the mark. The customer then sent us a sample of their polishing pad and we could see where the changes needed to be made. Since our pad sat too high, we reverse cut the outer edges of the foam and the pad fit perfectly. Thirty-five years later, the same design is still used today.

Our History

  • 1961

    Ferro Disc Pad Corporation was founded

  • 1964

    Ferro Disc Pad Corporation becomes Ferro Industries

  • 1964

    Ferro Industries moves into a 10,000 square ft. facility in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

  • 1976

    Ferro Industries expands production to one urethane machine, 20 stations, four (4) injection molding machines

  • 1985

    Ferro Industries moves into a 40,000 square ft. facility in Harrison Township, Michigan.

  • 2009

    Ferro Industries increases its production capabilities to 2 urethane machines, 240 stations, and 10 injection molding machines.
